Frequently Asked Questions About Swoosh Camps

How Did Swoosh Sports & Recreation, LLC get started?
In 2002, Swoosh was created in the living room of Amy & David Hertz. With the idea of providing children the best camp experience, a top-notch, service oriented athletic program was born…one that parents could count on. Swoosh started as a small basketball camp in a single gym, and quickly grew to multiple camps (All-Sports and Tennis) at various locations.

Do campers have to attend multiple weeks?
No. Although we’d love for all our campers to spend the entire summer with us, we realize it’s also a time for family vacations, additional seasonal programs and just being at home. Parents have the ability to sign-up for individual/multiple weeks, at a reasonable price, that best fits the family’s schedule.

What should my child bring with them to camp?
Campers need to bring comfortable athletic clothes and tennis shoes; a bathing suit and towel (JCU); a bag to store belongings and a lunch (unless purchasing from snack bar). All participants will receive a Swoosh t-shirt and water bottle with registration.

Are scholarships or financial aid awarded?
Unfortunately, we do not offer scholarships or financial aid at this time. Our programs are reasonably priced to be enjoyed by all. Swoosh does donate multiple weeks, each year, to assist with various fundraisers in our community.

Can parents / guardians request for their child to be grouped with a friend?
Absolutely, we want to ensure that all participants have a great camp experience. We will make every effort to group friends together as long as it is age appropriate.

Where are the Swoosh sites?
We currently run camps at John Carroll University and in Cleveland Heights (Communion of Saints). Swoosh runs camps and/or clinics at additional locations upon request.

Does my child have to pack a daily lunch?
No. If your child chooses not to bring a lunch to camp, he/she may purchase pizza, drinks and small snack bar items daily.

Does Swoosh offer additional programs?
Swoosh runs programming during the school year and holidays breaks. All participants will receive notification of future events.

Once registered for a camp, you will receive additional information an updates by email regarding your specific camp program
